IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY
The privacy and security of personal financial information about our customers is important to us. Our Privacy Policy is designed to inform you of the types of information we obtain from customers, how we use and safeguard that information, and the circumstances under which we will share it with third parties. Our Privacy Policy also provides guidance on how you can direct us not to share certain information with affiliated companies and with nonaffiliated third parties. Our Privacy Policy governs Customer Information, which means personally identifiable financial information about a customer or their relationship with us.
Confidentiality and Security
We restrict access to Customer Information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect our Customer Information.
Sources of Customer Information
We obtain information about you that we believe will be necessary or useful in processing or servicing your loan. We also obtain information about you so we can make more informed decisions about extending services to our customers. We obtain Customer Information from several sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets, liabilities, and income.
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others, such as your original loan balance, your current loan balance, your payment history, and the parties to the loan.
- Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies, such as your credit score or credit history.
- Information we receive from other third parties, such as information available in the public records.
Sharing of Customer Information
Cimarron Mortgage Company may share or disclose the information described above with affiliated companies. Affiliated companies are companies related to Cimarron Mortgage Company by common control ownership. We may also share Customer Information with the following types of nonaffiliated third parties:
- Financial service providers such as credit card issuers, finance companies, insurance companies, banks, and mortgage companies.
- Non-financial companies including retailers, airlines, marketing companies, manufacturers and publishers.
Your Right to “Opt Out” of Customer Information Sharing
If you prefer that we not share Customer Information about you with our affiliates or with third parties as described above, you may “Opt Out” of such information sharing by calling us at the following toll-free number: 800-949-6699. If you call us to “Opt Out”, we will ask for your social security number and loan number, if applicable. If one co-borrower requests to “Opt Out”, we will apply this request to all borrowers on the loan. Once your “Opt Out” request is received, we will update our records to indicate your preference. Your direction to Cimarron Mortgage Company to “Opt Out” remains in effect until you notify us in writing to change your preference.
Your “Opt Out” request does not prohibit Cimarron Mortgage Company from contacting you, even if we choose to contact you through companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or with other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.
Your “Opt Out” request does not prohibit sharing of Customer Information with nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law. This includes information shared as required by law, for example, to government entities in response to subpoenas. It also includes information shared as part of the routine course of business, such as the servicing of a loan and sharing with consumer credit reporting agencies.
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, we legally may share certain information with an affiliated company. Even if you “Opt Out” of sharing other Customer Information, we may continue to share the following information with an affiliated company:
- Information about your identity, such as your name, address and social security number.
- Information about your transactions and experiences with us, such as your original loan amount, your current loan balance, your loan number, your payment history, and the parties to the loan.
Cimarron Mortgage Company’s Privacy Policy and your “Opt Out” preferences will continue to apply to your Customer Information with Cimarron Mortgage Company even after your account is closed or inactive with us.
